Introductions.
Hey everybody! I thought I’d take this chance to introduce myself as we get going here.
I’m Casey, a university student taking an Animal Bioscience degree. When I’m not in class, I can be found writing stories at all hours of the day and night. Most of my work is historical fiction, focused on the WWII and Cold War eras, however I do occasionally dabble in present-day settings. In 2021, I was able to publish my first novel, Such a Time as This, and I am currently working on several new ideas.
My philosophy on writing has morphed over the years (I have a feeling there will be another post dedicated fully to that concept!), but now I can say wholeheartedly that I write to bring God the glory. In the past, I viewed the goal of publishing so highly that I was willing to remove God from my stories in order to achieve that. Now, I have realized that a good story requires God, for He is the author of all good stories. There can be nothing without Him, and because I love Him, I want Him to be a part of every story I write.
When I’m not writing, I can be found getting slurpees, taking drives, or spending time with my family. I have a passion for all things agriculture, but horses and cattle in particular, and can often be found rambling on about some abstract fact to do with cattle nutrition. Luckily, my family and friends put up with me :)
I have a passion for travel, and have had the privilege to visit over 20 countries in my life so far! I have a long list of places I still want to go, and I spend far too much time looking at flights to places I can’t afford to go… Nevertheless, travel provides me with a tremendous source of inspiration, and it has been a gift to be able to have those experiences!
I have a feeling some of these ideas are too big for an intro post, so I’m sure I’ll expand on them later on, but for now, that’s me in a nutshell!
